By doing this, they are focusing on what they’re lacking, instead of what they have already achieved. The truth is that the happiest and most productive students will tend to focus on their strengths, and on the progress or gains that have been made toward their training goal(s). This affirms the previous effort and positively points them toward their martial arts goal. As their instructors, it’s also our mission to keep pushing them, and help them to stay focused on their next goal and the greater achievements that lie ahead ....

Weekly Tip - The Value of Routine

There is an old but valuable saying that goes, “Take care of the days and the years take care of themselves”. This concept is so simple that it is often overlooked or dismissed in search of something more advanced or complicated. Daily routine and mindfulness in action is important to help “take care of the days.” For example, If you plan each morning to work 15 minutes on improving one skill or area, those 15 minutes add up at the end of the week, month, and year. Sticking to a morning routine that helps focus and create a positive, productive day could be exactly what you need to become a success person who achieves their goals. Weekly Tip - Before Your Childs next Belt Promotion, here is something to consider…

Before the promotion event, make sure that your child is ready. This may sound obvious, but it can be surprising how often some students don’t pre-check their requirements before their promotion event. Take time for them to practice in the classes & at home before the belt promotion and have them arrive early for a "dress rehearsal" just before they grading. This particular "Prep Zone" can play a huge role in the success of your child belt promotion and can help increase their satisfaction ....
