Communicate the WHY" to your parents and students...

As teachers we are very good at teaching the "How" to do things. It's important that we don't forget to focus on the "Why". To the student, this can facilitate their learning by contextualising the technique into a relevant scenario.

To a parent, it helps to paint the bigger picture of not just WHAT their children are learning, but WHY.

If you don't have a parents / students Facebook group, I STRONGLY recommend you get one. This is where you can really connect with parents and students, with not just information about what is going on, but by engaging them in the WHY your club does what it does.

This is the sort of post I put up in the group. It highlights a couple of great students, buy I also get a chance to communicate to parents on a more detailed level.
